HD-PVR Tiling Issue - FWIW

I had been using an HD-PVR without problem for about a month. Then Arcsoft released an update to TME. I downloaded it. It also said I then needed to download the latest Hauppauge driver, which I did. All of a sudden, I can't watch anything in SD or HD off my PVR without incredible tiling. This happened with Sage and under TME. It happened on 2 different computers.

Not knowing how to strip out all the "new" drivers AND encoders AND decoders Hauppauge and Arcsoft put on my computer, I ghosted my previous day's image and the problem was gone.

I realize there are a limitless combination of hardware/software/driver situations out there. I have learned that, in my case, I NEVER allow Hauppauge to update drivers (I have other Hauppauge cards installed for capturing OTA ATSC). I install all drivers manually for each card. I also NEVER allow Arcsoft to update itself.

I have no idea if the problem exists in the encoder, the decoder, or some combo with my ATI 3650 video card. All I know for sure is that, in my case, Upgrade=Tiling.
