Insufficient Diskspace?

I'm running SageTV with SageMC on WHS and am having some issues with Diskspace. I have the recorded TV directory (D:\Shares\SageTV) set to only use 150GB of space, however, SageTV seems to be ignoring that. Looking at the folder sizes, according to WHS, it says that the SageTV folder is using 187GB. Going into the SageTV information section it says the following:
  • Available Video Diskspace: -51.16 GB
  • Recoverable Diskspace: 1.53 GB
  • Used Video Diskspace: 201.16 GB
For some reason Sage thinks what its used is 20GB more than it actually used, but it also thinks the library is also 20GB bigger than it actually is, so I'm not sure if that is an issue. It does look like Sage knows about the limit because my available diskspace is negative, but it seems to ignore it. Any ideas why this is happening?

Because of the way WHS uses the disk and pooling it appears Sage is including the system partition (your C: drive) in its calculation.

Hmm, any idea why my free space is going negative then? Is there some setting to delete recordings that I am missing?

Did you turn off the Recycle bin? Or are deleted files being stored in there?

Did you create the SageTV folder thru the WHS console as a share and give full access to it? By default WHS creates Music, Photos, Software, Videos and Public shares. You need to create the SageTV directory for your recordings as a share thru the console. (Not in FIle Explorer)

I'm pretty sure I created it through the console, it does show up in the console as one my shares, and everyone has full access to it. I do think it is a Sage issue though, because the recoverable disk space is only 1.53GB. That talks about the recordings it thinks it can delete right?

Are your recordings manual recordings or Favorites with autodelete set to off? Those are never automatically deleted. Neither are Archived recordings.

Ah that was it. I am recording a bunch of series, but for some reason they all defaulted to "Keep Until I Delete". I went through and changed all of those to "Space is needed". Now I have 150GB of recoverable space (which assume Sage will start deleting stuff to get more free space). Thanks for the tip!
