I believe if you go to the plugin manager, select installed plugins, you will see the option to configure. From there you can chaneg the password without editing any files.

If you're running Sage 7 you can use the plugin manager. If you're on Sage 6 you need to change jetty/etc/realm.properties and restart Sage.

Thumbs up On 6, Win7 (64 bit), Resolved Conflict Icon

Has a fix been found for the resolved conflict icon? It's probably my only annoyance.

Otherwise this rocks!

UPDATE:

Seems the app is looking for the ="resolvedconflicticon.gif" which does not exist on my system. Can you post this icon somewhere and tell me what relative directory it should be in?

Thanks!

That was fixed in version 2.26. What version are you using?

I checked the source repository and the filename is all lowercase.

Username and Password----anyone?

Installed the Web plugin on the current STV beta running on Ubuntu 10.01. I can access http://serverip:8080/sage/Home just fine and get a login prompt. Shouldnt providing this somewhere, the login credentials, be an obvious thing to do when releasing these? Can someone provide the default username/password please.

Thanks

This thread is for the V6 web interface. The V7 plugin has its own thread here. Login credentials for the V7 plugin are on the Jetty plugin configuration page in the Sage UI.

If you've actually installed the V6 web server on V7, the default login credentials are documented in the Jetty installation instructions.

But there isn't a context file in that zip file. Where is the context file?

It's in the zip file at the location: jetty/contexts/nielm_websrv.context.xml

Quick question. I access the SageTV web plugin via my Phone, Tablet, Laptop etc... on a constant basis, and am so tired of putting a username and password. I tried to figure this out myself, but short of starting to jack up the jetty.xml, and realm.properties to an unusable state, I am wondering if somebody can help me with just disabling authentication altogether. I don't plan on my SageTV Server web interface being accessible from outside my house, so I am not worried about security.
Thanks ahead for any input or help.

I was thinking the same thing but the discussion should probably be in this thread instead http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48458 as the thread that you have posted in has been dead for three years.

LOL, I got so tired of searching Jetty documentation, I didn't look at the dates in this thread.

I use authentication + SSL for the sageTV webserver. Since i use firefox, I just install a small web browser plugin called AuthAuth; which remembers the username/password for websites like the SageTV webserver. Never have to worry about username/password again. I'm sure there's the equivalent for other web browsers.

That's fine for computers etc. I have an iPad, nexus7, iPhone etc, where those options are not as easy. This is why I want to disable authentication.

Sorry, I know this doesn't help you any; but, all my Android phones save the username/password for the sageTV webserver using the stock web browser without any plugins. Are you SURE you cant save the username/password on your nexus 7? I wonder what I might be doing differently.

I find this annoying on the ipad, most of my other devices remember passwords so it isn't as big an issue. Is there no way to pass the username and password to the URL as in myserver.com:8080/sage/Home?username=sage&password=frey

I just tried doing http://sageassword@mysite in my iPhone and it threw up a big phishing warning and wouldn't let me continue.

And my Nexus 7 saved my username and password. iOS devices can save login information if its a web form in the page but cannot save web page authentication credentials like are used with the SageTV web interface. Kind of retarded that they can't.

Yeah, sounds like just a device limitation. honestly, the say the sage server does it is 'proper' simple http authentication, and it should actually work properly using it in the URL on older browsers... newer ones though, for security reasons, do not properly parse out user and passwords in the URL.
