SageTV HD Theater / HD100 - Compatibility

Will these with with any uPnP media server? Or just Sage?

Will they "hook up" to a Windows Media Center system?

The HD100 (no longer sold) has to be used with SageTV as it is an extender only.

The HD200 can be used in both modes, both as an extender for SageTV and as a standalone network video player (it can even have a USB hard drive hooked to it to act like a standalone video player).

As for Windows Media Center, I am not sure due to the DRM. someone else will have to chime in on that one.

The definitely don't work as WMC extenders. I'm not sure if they can play wtv or dvr-ms files (I'm about 99.9% sure they can't play either if there's DRM on them, eg CableCard recordings)

Can ANYTHING else hook up to SageTV as an extender? Or is SageTV a completely closed system in general with relation to the server.

No system supports arbitrary 3rd party hardware as extenders.
