hd100 PAL - how to change to NTSC?

ok i needed another media extender so my brother in england scored me one. the firmware has native PAL resolutions loaded.

i have added NTSC resolutions in the extra modes and they work fine but i need to update the firmware and can't access those extra resolutions until the hd100 is connected to the sage server.

any ideas how i can update the firmware inspite of not being able to tune the setup screen picture?

thanks!

got a computer monitor you could hook up to it in the meantime? any monitor should be able to display pretty much any resolution, NTSC or PAL...

Use the recovery procedure from the FAQ. You can also download the latest firmware and rename it stx1000.bin .

Quote:
Recovery Procedure
Download the following file to the SageTV folder on your server. Place the file in the same directory where sagetv.exe is located.
http://download.sage.tv/firmware/stx1000.bin
Make sure the SageTV software is running on your server and is configured to be able to talk to extender clients, as mentioned above.
Turn off the STX-HD100 at the switch.
Press and hold down both the Menu and OK buttons on the front panel while turning on the switch.
Continue pressing both the Menu and OK buttons on the front panel until the DATA (or ACTIVE) light turns on. Once that light turns on, you can let go of the Menu and OK buttons.
The lights on the front will blink during the update procedure.
The unit will reboot itself automatically when done with this update and should then be running

I think the trick was to hold menu and up when it starts to clear the settings.
