Server ip

I just installed the trial version of STV Client (on a computer that does not have STV media center on it but is on my wired network.) and when I run it, it asks for the ip address of the STV server. How do i get that?

Assuming that the SageTV server is on a windows machine, log on to that box and run from a command prompt (type cmd in the Run window):

ipconfig

that will give you the ip information of the server.

You may want o read page 18 of the SageTV manual.

SageTV shows its IP address in its System Information menu; the easiest way to get to it is to use the Info command from the Main Menu.

It should find the server automatically. Does the client machine show on the server's Workgroup? If not, that's where your problem is. They're probably on two different workgroups and can't see each other.
