HD-PVR a little jerky

So, I've just set up a HD-PVR on my server, running windows 7.

The setup went well enough, but on my mac client (latest beta under snow leopard), the playback is jerky and sometimes the image freezes altogether as the audio continues to play.

The playback is bad in both the SageTVClient and VLC. VLC has always played everything I've thrown at it without a hitch. . .

The m2ts files that I can record in Arcsoft TME seem to play better in VLC on my mac than the ts files from Sage.

Is there any way to get the HD-PVR to pass m2ts files on to Sage? Would this make any difference?

Any advice would be great.

Thanks,
Chris

What processor on your Mac? It sounds to me like the issue might be that the processor on your mac is unable to handle H.264 at whatever resolution you're recording. For example, my 1.83Ghz Mac Mini is fine up to 720p. 1080i or 1080p H.264 playback is not possible. Just not enough processing power and no hardware acceleration is available.

2.4ghz Core 2 Duo Macbook Pro. Plus, I'm outputting 720p from my cable box. The processor isn't the issue here.

I think it's a problem with the Snow Leopard beta's mplayer. I'm waiting to hear back from Sage support. . .
