No audio with .m4v files

My wife has produced a ton of .m4v files, but I can't get any audio from them. XBMC and QuickTime play them just fine. I have tried various video and audio decoder combinations but no luck so far.

SageTV describes the files as: Format: Quicktime[H.264 4:3 480p@24fps, AAC@48khz Stereo eng, AC3@48kHz Stereo eng, Subpic:eng TEXT/0X74786574]

MediaInfo describes the file as:

MPEG-4 (Base Media/Version 2): 1.82GiB 1h 33mn
1 video stream: AVC
2 audio stream: AAC / AC-3
Writing application: HandBrake 0.9.2 2008021900

First video stream: 2487 Kbps (2500 Kbps), 720*480 (4/3) at 23.976 fps, AVC(NTSC) (Main@L5.1) (2 Ref Frames)
First audio stream: English, 96.0 Kbps, 48.0 KHz, 2 channels, AAC (Version 4)(LC)
Second audio stream: English, 192 Kbps, 48.0 KHz, 1 channel, AC-3

If I try to play AC-3 audio, the video hangs. AAC is silent.

Setup: Windows XP-sp3. SageTV 6.6.2.218 - Client (but fails on server too).

Digging through all of the decoder/codec stuff can give one a serious headache. I can't imagine how a tech neophyte would survive this. One worry I have is that if I switch to some other decoder/codec that I'll loose any hardware boost from my video card.

I think you need the Nero audio Codec. I know there is a free download for it, but sorry, no link.

BTW, audio isn't decoded by the video card, so you should be OK.
