Pause in playback of RECORDED video when the tuner changes channels at hour - Win7
I rebuilt my Sage server with windows 7 two week ago. As a whole, it runs so much better.
Only issue I see is that when I am in the middle of watching a RECORDED show it freezes a bit at the hour/half hour when a show that is recording(not the one I am watching) changes over to the next half hours show.
What is interesting is that when using winxp I would get random lockups and spinning circles on the extender any time the server got too bogged down. All that is gone in windows 7 but now I have this new issue where show playing on extender freezes for a few seconds while the show being recorded is changing.
I have a HDHome Run using 2 over the air signals and a hd-pvr going to directv box. i have not been able to isolate it to either/both of these recorders needing to be on for it to happen but I am looking into trackingg what recorder is running when it happens.
Any thoughts on what I should look for? I understand the blip in recording when I am watching a channel live and a new hour starts. This is differnt from my problem though because I am watching a recorded show when I see the freezing.
I assume as the show changes it writes out any cache for the old show and opens a file for a new show. Any idea what the big drain on resources is at that moment?
