Step by frame + no OSD on pause
I sometimes take screen shots of Sage window (w/ a 3rd party utility) and I wish I had clean, precise control over which frame I'm on. Two questions:
1) Besides hitting "Pause" twice, does Sage have dedicated functions for single-frame forward/backward move? I can't find them. 2) When stepping frame-by-frame with pause, the timeline OSD constantly gets in the way. Can it be turned off for pausing, so I can step frame-by-frame and maintain a clean view? I found "Inactivity Timeout and OSD AutoHide" in Setup->Detailed Setup->Customize. However, it seems like I can only set Autohide to 1 sec, I can't turn off the OSD completely. Ideally, I'd like to get rid of the OSD altogether for pausing, while keeping the OSD auto-display when switching channels or launching a recording. |

The OSD stays turned off if you use Pause while playback is already paused & the OSD is not shown.

Hm, not the case here. By "OSD" I mean the timeline strip at the bottom of the screen. When Sage is paused and I hit either "Pause" or "Pause/Play", the OSD timeline pops up again. Is there a setting I'm missing?

What STV are you using? If it is the default SageTV3 STV, has it been customized?
Make sure you are only using the Pause command -- again, while playback is paused & the OSD is off. - Andy

SageTV3: "Pause" - NO, "Pause/Play" - YES SageMC: "Pause" - YES, "Pause/Play" - YES I wonder what setting makes SageMC show the OSD after hitting "Pause", as opposed to what happens in SageTV3. This could give me a clue how to disable the OSD after hitting "Pause/Play" in either STV. BTW, when you say "when OSD is off", I take it to mean: "when OSD is currently not showing". I take it there's no way to turn off OSD permanently, so that it never shows up. * Moved. Please use the SageMC forum for all SageMC related questions. * |
