Can browse network drive, but not import from it

I have Windows 7, SageTV Version 6.6.2.218 and a Network share with all of my ripped media.

When I specify the path, //server/data/media, and try to refresh, no video files are are found. Yet, I can browse local network via the computer that's running the Sagetv server, using the sagetv client and can actually play any video file on the file share.

If I try to do the same thing from another computer or placeshifter, I get an error: Error (-2): Files selected for playback are no longer on disk.

I'm using a windows service and have used a name and password that works for the network share.

Any ideas! This is driving me crazy!

If you actually specified it using forward slashes as shown, try it again using backslashes (\\server\data\media), which is the Windows standard.

If the path is specified correctly, it sure sounds like a permissions issue with the SageTVService. Double-check to make sure you have the service logging in correctly as a user with network permissions (and that you have actually restarted the service since making that change).

Yes, I meant \\server\data\media. On the service user, it has .\username. What's the ".\" for? I have a user and password combination which should work to access the network share.

...so as an example, my workgroup is called WORKGROUP, so what should I put: "WORKGROUP/david"?

Thanks

Oops--I did it again, I meant "WORKGROUP\david". When I do this I get invalid
username or password.

Should be Computer\User.

Make sure your share permissions as well as the NTFS permissions are correct. As a test try giving the Everyone group Full Control and see if it works then.
