RUnning External Programs on SageTV Server
Hi,
I have SageTV running on a Windows server in the cupboard with 3 x HD200's as the clients. I would like to be able to run a command line program on the server from a menu item of the HD200 clients, to do some basic home automation stuff. Does anyone know if there are any plugins or support for doing that ? Cheers

I used to do this for a while (rebuilt my SageTV server, never found the time to reinstall this), using the Dynamic Menu plugin and EventGhost to communicate with other EventGhost instances on the network.
I mostly used it to remotely reboot the SageTV server/service and a few other basic tasks.

Dynamic Menus should work perfect fine for this (either the plugin for the default STV, or the features built into SageMC). Triggering an external command from an extender launches the program from the server (as that's where the extenders are 'really' running).
PC clients, on the other hand, wouldn't be able to do this as easily, as they are run on the client itself.
