Multiple DVD Drives

I have 3 DVD drives in my HTPC? How do I can Sage to select which one to play from? (I can file a bug if need be to have them give us the option to select from the menu).

Also one of the said drives is a blu-ray burner that also plays dvds, but sage 7 will never play a dvd in that drive. . .is it supposed too? (shouldn't i also be able to play blu-ray discs in it now as well, what's the difference between that and mounting and iso?).

I'm not sure what logic sage uses to detemine what happens when you choose the Play DVD menu item. however, I have been much happier adding my drives as shares (with friendly names), and adding them as import folders. Then, (after a refresh), inserted drives will show up in the video library. I'm actually able to play from any DVD/BD-ROM in the house in this way.

Yeah I guess I could do that. . . but does the meta data import work right then?

well, considering you don't really ever have any metadata for inserted DVDs, they will just show as an unnamed DVD/BluRay. (well, they will show the share name you choose).

really, the only downside of doing it this way, is that it requires a media library refresh to pick up a newly inserted disc.

Well I've got a bug in about this. . . for one, in Sage7, there is no way for me to tell which dvd icon matches to which drive letter, and I can't edit the names. I end up having to go down to "view video details" which makes no sense.

I should also think that if you have drives imported that are optical (which SageTV most certainly knows, they could just do a mini library refresh on those drives).

In my case, sage doesn't know that my drives are optical, it sees them just as any other network share.
