Stop recording and keep file

How do I stop a recording without it deleting the file? When I choose to cancel a recording it progress, it deletes the file.

There is one setting (under custom) that allows you to keep live tv files. I'd guess that this would keep partial recordings as well. Problem though is that you keep a lot of additional files, if you do some live tv viewing.

Select the recording and 'Set Watched' and after a couple of minutes or less the recording will stop and the file will be retained.

I think the delay is to allow you to set it back to unwatched so that the recording can continue without interuption, just in case you set it to watched by mistake.

It took me a while to figure this out, as it is not intuitive

Interesting...I'll give this a try.

It's true, it's not intuitive. Having a "Stop" recording option *would* be nice. That'd be more intuitive:
Stop = stop recording, keep file
Cancel = stop recording, delete file
