Help with tuning Five on DVB-S
For some reason I just can't get Five to tune on my system.
My .frq is working with everything else now (unless I've missed something), but when I select "Five" it just gives "No Signal". I got the channel settings originally from a full channel scan I did using this same system. I have checked that edits to the .frq file are effective to make sure I'm working with the right file. I've also tried it with the settings of 3 other "Five" channels I get during a full scan as a test. Same result. If I substitute another channel's setting into the line it will tune that channel perfectly. This is the .frq entry in question: CH:11 onid:2 tsid:2045 sid:6335 frq:10773000 rate:22000 pol:1 fec_rate_in:6 sat:0 ctrl:1 #:FIVE Does anyone have any idea why it won't tune to that channel? I've been frustrated trying to fix this for the last couple of nights...any help would be much appreciated.

Can you confirm that you can receive Five using some other DVB software e.g. DVBViewer? Years ago I had an similar issue with a couple of channels that simply wouldn't tune in. It was fixed with a new LNB as obviously the old one had some sort of problem with those frequencies.
If you are able to receive Five outside of Sage then it could be a typo or control character in the .FRQ file. Try substituting my working .FRQ file (attached) or simply cut & paste the relevant line into your file. Finally it could be that the channel number is remapped to another frequency that does indeed have No Signal. I never use the scanning or mapping facilities within SageTV as that is more prone to error & mysterious problems than is a .frq file & Digiguide DG2XML & Stephane's importer. The .frq for each tuner is loaded when SageTV restarts and that the physical channel no. in the lineup (not the logical channel no.) is used to match with the corresponding channel ID in the .frq for each tuner to find the tuning parameters. To clean up any remapping of channel numbers close down sageTV then edit the properties file and remove lines starting with epg/channel_lineups epg/lineup_overrides epg/lineup_physical_overrides |
