HVR-2250 and Recent Recording Skipping
Hello,
In the last few weeks I started to notice something very unusual. A few analog recordings with my HVR-2250 would only record partially though Sage reports them as fully recorded. When I play the recordings back, the time line advances around 30 seconds for each second that is played. This has only happened with a couple of shows and mainly on Comedy Central (though this did happen once with another channel). Has anyone else experienced this? I don't think anything is wrong with the HVR-2250 because other analog records are playing back fine. Could this just be an isolated problem with Comedy Central and Time Warner Cable? Thanks for the help, Will

I've seen something like what you are describing quite a few times in version 6. I have not seen it in version 7 yet, and I've been using it since it came out.

Well I have been using v7 since it came out but I am using 7.13. 7.13 has been very stable for me (except for this issue) that I have been hesitant to upgrade.
I plan on upgrading today to the latest beta version to see if it fixes this issue. If it doesn't then I am going to start looking at drives/hardware issues. Will

Do you have the latest driver update for the 2250?

I am running the latest drivers, have been for about a month.
I have updated Sage to the latest version and I hope that resolves the issue... What makes fixing this issue difficult is that I have no way of recreating the problem. I have to wait for a random occurrence which could take days, weeks, or even months.

I'm seeing this as well. Narflex says he has a bug report or two but no recordings to debug with. I have an overnight package going out to him today with two recordings from my HVR-2250 that have various playback issues.
If you have recordings that he can look at I HIGHLY suggest you upload them to their FTP server (mine were too big so I burned them to disk.) Sage support can give you the FTP address and password. The more recordings they have to look at the better.

I'm having the same issue. Playing the file in vlc works fine. In windows media player, the timer doesn't skip, but it still only plays the first 30 seconds or so. I was using 7.0.12 when I noticed it and installed 7.0.15 hoping for a fix, but it is still an issue. It doesn't do it for all analog recordings, maybe about half. It does do it on both encoders on the 2250 card though (#1 and #2).
I have a clean install of sage v7 on win 7 enterprise 64bit with a hvr 2250 and a hd-pvr. I can upload a sample file if that would help. [Edit: Also, I have the same issue trying to playback the files on an hd200 extender. ] Last edited by beerandt; 09-01-2010 at 10:19 AM. |

I heard back from Narflex on this and the problem is with the 2250 driver screwing up the timestamp on the recordings. I think the best bet will be to try some older drivers as well as contacting Hauppauge support.

I don't recall this ever happening with the 27323 drivers (which I still have). If needed, I am glad to post a copy.

Hauppauge is aware of this, and is in the process of fixing it.. Go back to the 27323 drivers...
