Recorded programs have no show names

My recorded programs have recently lost their program Titles. They just say SageTV now. For instance, when I go to archived shows, there is a numbered list and they all say SageTV. Also, in recorded shows, I used to see a listing. Now I see one show listed with it's correct name and above that it will say 4 SageTV Recordings. Looks like once they get archived this is when it loses the information like the TV show title.

I used to see a list of recorded programs and they all said what show it was in a list. Even current recordings will only show the name of one show now. I just changed my Video directory to match MyMovies and I wonder if this screwed things up.

For instance here is the output for looking at archived shows:

You have 4 recorded shows

1. SageTV
2. SageTV
3. SageTV
4. SageTV


Instead of

1. Letterman Show
2. Tonight Show
3. Hawaii 5-0
4. Blue Bloods

Anyone seen this behavior before and how do you fix it?

Well, I futzed around a bit and then decided to just uninstall SageTV and re-install and everything works now.

What causes this? Some favorites record with the show name and some favorites get lumped into a group called "SageTV Recordings" they each will say "SageTV" as the show title. Even though the info shows the real title E.g. The Tonight Show and gives all other show information time it ran etc. This drives me batty.

Using latest SageTV 7 latest HD300 firmware etc. via WHS networked to a HDHomerun that has all the channels set exactly as Zap2it says.

Are you running bmt or ortus scrapers?

MyMovies was mentioned in the first post above & in other topics from MovieFreak. If that isn't being used, what plugins are? Try disabling all plugins and see if it happens to new recordings.

Perhaps a debug log ought to be posted.

Gotcha Andy I Missed the recording directory change

You should have to move your recording directory as that shouldn't be one mymovies monitors. If you did and you are monitoring your recording directory check and see if you are writing properties in the collection manager settings if so that could be the issue.

I thought recording metadata was stored with the file so I am not 100% how that works. However disabling your plugins won't help if you are exporting property files with MyMovies collection manager and monitoring your tv directory.

As andy said logs would help as well.

This makes sense. I think this is the problem. I have modified my recording directory to Recorded TV on my server. Now, My Movies will not see it.

I would like to report back that this was the issue and now the shows all have names again.
