A - Z side bar

Anyone create an A - Z side bar for v7 a la sageMC? I haven't gone back to MC since 7 was released but that is by far the biggest feature we miss as a family with our library of videos...

For some reason trying to spell thing with the remote just doesn't work after the first letter!

I missed that too. However, if you enable the extra features, It will allow you to hit the coresponding number (not on search) it will scroll down to that area. Example: for movies starting with "S" press the number 7 key and boom your there.
In the search it tripped me up too. just type in coresponding number (don't try to get the exact letter) and then punch in the next number for the next letter. Since it knows all the videos you have, it will start dwindling down possible matches until the show you want appears. It's actually pretty cool.
Example:to find the movie Bolt just type in 2658 and it will show up.

I just don't find that typing the number works well for us. Without enabling all the other "stuff" you an only go to the first letter of the number so like A D G etc... The second letter just doesn't work for us on our remote?!

The sidebar was by far an extremely useful option and I am very surprised it hasn't shown back up as a single add on outside of MC.

I am getting this request for the "old sage" from a six year old. She's talking about the sidebar, has anyone ever put anything together that is similar?

I miss it too. Trying to key in letters on the keypad in dimly lit rooms is aggravating.

SMM has it and it is on the list for Diamond.

I'm glad to hear this is being developed for Diamond. I agree that it is the most missed featured from SageMC. Diamond Flow is really cool visually, but it takes way too long to circle around to movies deep in the alphabet!

I tried Diamond but it is too slow on my HD300. Really slow- Could be that my library is on my spun down unraid server but I don't think so...

Maybe once it is added there I will look at Diamond. In the meantime my arm I would give for the A-Z bar is still in its box waiting to be shipped to the first author.

Typing a name just DOES NOT WORK. I was talking to people about how it is supposed to work and I tried it again and it just doesn't. No if, ands, or buts about it.

The next version of diamond is much much faster on extenders we have changed our caching method.

Also the search does work if you have malor extras on it doesn't work in diamond views because we are going to do our own
