Blu Ray ISO playback on 300?

So I have the new 300, and I have an ISO of Prince of Persia blu ray to test at around 30 gigs.

On the sagetv server, and the Hd300, it never starts and the little round thing just swirls.

I'm reading on the hd300 features that it's supposed to play blu ray ISO's. Am I missing something?

Did you mount the ISO with VCD?

No, I just crazily expected the sage software to be able to read the ISO.
lol

So it needs to be mounted on a virtual drive? What program in particular is VCD?

It can play them in standalone mode. In extender mode I think SageTV software requires VCD to mount the ISO for format detection.

So in stand alone mode, that means I MUST have the ISOs on an external harddrive attached directly to the device correct?

Sweet, got it working. I'm so used to just connecting to my sagetv server, I never even explored the rest of the extenders lol.

It just starts playing the movie when I select the ISO, so not able to read menus or anything yet?

No the HD300's (or any of the extenders for that matter) are unable to do anything but play the movie.

you can get vcd (virtual clonedrive)

it is free.

there is a requirement that you add more than one virtual drive when using sage. I think the rule of thumb is # of extenders + 1. I've never seen an explanation for this, but it is something you need to be aware of.

I ordered a blu-ray burner for my pc.

If I put blu ray movies in it, will sage and/or the extender be able to play its menu's and other goodies?

If you also have AnyDVD-HD running on the same pc then the extenders will be able to play the movie but not run the menu's.
