For evilpenguin: Problem with Show original airdates

I am using Recordings List: Show original airdates plugin. For NBC Nightly News it always shows 8/3/70. It seems that this particular program doesn't set this field property? Can you detect such situation in your plugin and display the current air date instead?

Thank you,

P.S. Would use PM instead but it seems your mailbox is full.

That'd be fairly difficult to detect, so I don't think there's anything I can do. Sorry!

I've seen the same issue with other news type programs. Most have been on the air for decades and I think it's really hard to detect specific date info

This is just a limitation of the guide info for the shows. They always are represented by the exact same information - which is the Show information, and don't contain episode information. Therefore, the OAD of the SHOW itself WAS the 8/3/70. Ideally, each day's 'epispde' would be named with the particular date as the episode name, and that date be the OAD, but that isn't the case.

How about a list of exceptions? For shows XXX, YYY and ZZZ use the actual air date rather than OAD?

I don't think so. I'm just not interested in adding that level of complexity to a plugin this simple.
