Comments - SageTV v7

I love the fluidity of the new software. The picture has even improved I think since v6.

I do have one gripe though. It seems to take a HUGE amount of "clicks" of remote commands to get where I want to go.

For instance, I want to mark a show as "watched" and it's not even on the menu anymore when I select a recording. I have to go to Advanced, then move to the right column and then move to Close.

When I get done with a show and want to delete it, it defaults to "don't delete" instead of "delete"? Why would that be.

Basically my remote will definately be dying much faster than before and my buttons on the remote will probably also suffer.

The remote has a "watched" button on it. If you are using a software client, CTRL+W will mark a recording watched.

As for your second comment, this is a hallmark of good software design. You always default to the no/not/no change option so a stuck key or errant stray signal will not result in an irreversible change (eg. a stuck select key automatically selecting "delete" and "Yes" at the conclusion of a program.

I have a Harmony I use. I'll look at the old one and see about this "watched" button. That might help.

Thanks!

Is the harmony programmable? I use a programmable logitech and I know that the Sage codes include the "watched" option that I can assign to a button. Of course, if it's a learning remote, you could also use the original to "teach" the harmony the watched code.
