Post Multi Part Video Imports

Environment:
Version 2.3.4
sagex.api Version 7.0.23.1

I have exhausted all efforts prior to making this post in hopes that I am over looking something very simple. I am trying to crossover from XBMC to using SageTV for Movies genre/categories functionality. Prior just used the TV portion of SageTV. For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to stack multi-part video files. I have read in the many forum posts that all that must be done is to name your files as such: 21 Grams (2003)-cd1.avi 21 Grams (2003)-cd2.avi and in this fashion BMT should see this as one file and display only 1 Fanart. Unfortunately, I see 2 fanarts for for both part files and have messed around with the Mask variables to no avail. It is currently set to the default as I have tried everything else...
${Title} (${Year}) - Disc ${DiscNumber\:java.text.DecimalFormat\:00}
I am using a simple test directory: D:\test movies with only these 2 files in it before pointing to where my entire library is. So I have tried removing the source from the SageMC which I understand cleans and purges any existence of these files from the wiz.bin and have also repeated these similar steps using the BMT Web UI.....This is the only feature I cannot seem to get working and would appreciate any and all advice.

The good news is that you are not going crazy.... But what you want to do, simply cannot be done

BMT, from the web ui, does have the ability to group multipart cds into a single folder, but it still doesn't stack them in the way that XMBC does. I came from Xmbc, so i feel you pain... but to be honest, it doesn't bother me as much as it used it

There is nothing in the main TV UI to group or stack, and bmt simply fetches metadata and fanart, it does not do anything to the UI.

Thumbs up

Ok Thanks Seth! Good to know that this simply cannot be done.

So if I have a D:\Movies folder...and in this folder I have
Finding Nemo CD1.avi
Finding Nemo CD2.avi

Should the UI display Fanart images and list out the files for both parts...or just 1 image for both parts? Preference would be for 1 image to represent the Movie regardless of how many parts.
Lastly, Once CD1 is done playing should sage automatically start playing CD2?

Thanks very much for any advice!

Not that you probably want to do this but another option is to use avidemux to join the two parts into one.

I'd recommend just re-ripping the movie to a single file or video_ts folder. I see no reason keeping yourself in any way tied to having to split files due to size anymore (that is, unless you have movies > 16EB... doubtful...

Sage doesn't have any concept of multi part movies... so in this case, sage will treat the folder like any other folder. Sage may ask if you want to play all files in the folder, in which case, it will add them both of the current playlist and play them, but as for fanart, etc, they will show up twice and show the same poster, background, etc.

They will share the same fanart resources though, since they will have the same "MediaTitle", which may be different that the display title.
