Sleep Issue with SageTV 7 (using S3)
I have been a happy SageTV user for sometime now and have recently purchased a few HD-300 to replace my bulky home brew extenders at my TV sets.
I am now attempting to take advantage of the WOL with the HD300's and it works without fail and wakes my server if it is sleeping and my server will wake to record with issue. The problem begins with the server going to sleep 2 minutes after idle, regardless if an one of the HD300's are watching a recorded program of even if SageTV is currently recording. Any ideas to help me out? I am sure it is a simple fix and this would just top off my setup and help my electricity bill. MarcusJ |

My sleep issues have been corrected with the following fix. It appeared that the problem was routed in using WD Green drives in my server. I replaced all my WD green drives with western digital black drives and all is wonderful again.
My best guess is that they were spinning down too much or too soon. Save power and lose recordings, I guess. I hope this helps someone else. |
