Back to version 6

I've had it with Version 7. What's required to go back to version 6. Can I just reinstall it over 7?

What kind of problem are you having with version 7?

It becomes a real problem getting the HD-200 to connect. Today was the fourth time I've had to reinstall 7. Turn the hd-200 on, and the sage server goes down. Restart sage doesn't fix it - reboot doesn't fix it. Have to uninstall and reinstall 7. This is a weekly occurance. Often a restart of the sage server will fix it. That's like a two times a week affair.
After reinstalling, ( or restarting), it then becomes necessary to rescan the media files. I've got 10+ terabytes. Perhaps that's the roblem . Then of course, if you are using mymovies plugin, have to rescan with that as well.
The whole thing is a real pain. I have CQC with the mymovies interface, so I can go back to 6.6 and use mymovies from there.

Have you verified that sagetv 7 works for you without the plugins with the HD 200

No - it could be a plugin problem.

When I tried to go from 7 back to 6, it did not go well. I had to stick with 7 at that point. Did not have time to re-install 6 and configure before wife woke-up. All sagetv maintenance at my house has to be done between 12 am and 5 am.

I would try sagetv7 without the plugin, then go from there. Just a suggestion. Deleting the sage. properties file and properties file backup/ or just rename them will be sufficient to test the base sage setup. Sage will generate new ones.

You can't use the wiz.bin in v7 going back to v6. So if you have any recordings during v7 you'll probably have to import them in v6 to get metadata. And make sure you still have your wiz.bin from your previous v6 install. Or you'll end up with a clean install of v6 with none of the metadata for any of your recordings. They'll all end up imported into Videos.

I installed the mymovies collection manager on my server. Within a few seconds of installing it, my server crashed. I am not certain, but I think it installed microsoft sql server 2005. Had to uninstall mymovies and reboot to get the server back up. I had not installed the mymovies plugin yet. This may all be coincidence, since I had been playing with the webfeeder plugin.
