HD300 and 7.1 PCM

I have a couple of 7.1 PCM Blu Rays. When playing back on the HD300 it displays as 5.1 and my receiver shows 5.1. Should the HD300 correctly play 7.1 PCM or is it limited to 5.1

Full disclosure - The movies in question are movies that have had the TrueHD and DTS-MA tracks decompressed to PCM (My receiver is HDMI 1.2). Tsmuxer shows the PCM as 7.1.

Edit: I see the the product page says 7.1 PCM is supported so I guess the initial answer to my question is yes. Does anyone have an idea as to why I would not be getting all the channels? Does anyone own a movie that has 7.1 PCM natively (3:10 to Yuma comes to mind) that can confirm that a direct rip yields all 7.1 channels

Send us a debug log if you can't resolve the issue. 7.1 sound output should work but I don't know if it was tested with bdmv.

Have you tried any other devices? It's possible your AVR is only reporting that it supports 5.1 audio, if so I think Sage would automatically limit itself to 5.1.

Stanger, good call. I tried this directly from my Blu-Ray player and only got 5.1 lights. I used to have a PS3 (since deceased) and somehow the PS3 software forced 7.1 out to my receiver (Denon AVR-887) and this worked fine but apparently, something in the Denon is reporting only 5.1 capability along the HDMI connection.

The only thing that confuses me is in the Sage OSD, the audio track is reported as 5.1 PCM instead of 7.1 PCM. I wouldn't think the Denon capability would affect that would it?

I guess Sage could look into forcing 7.1 PCM but unless someone from Sage really wants to fix an issue that only affects a very small number of people on a very small number of movies, I am happy with the situation as is. Matrixed surround back speakers on the three 7.1 movies I own is just fine.

I would though post a log too for _Demo_, there might be something in it that points them to something they can do.

I have attached a copy of my log. Look for Rush Hour 3. Strangely according to the log, when Sage looks at the audio tracks, it sees the PCM and the DTS-MA tracks both as 6 channel. Everything else I have used on this file sees 8 channels - see attached screen shot of tsmuxer.
