Still having trouble getting USB-UIRT with Dish 211k

OK, I have searched the boards and read every article I can find on this topic. I have SageTV7 running on a system with two Hauppauge 1600 cards getting off-air HD (unit has been running for YEARS with V6 and now V7 with no issues). I have an HD-PVR connected to record Dish Network from a 211K solo receiver. Works fantastic with only an occasional studder but nothing to worry about other than getting it to tune. I have a USB-UIRT connected, imported various different .ir files and went in and also did the LEARN for the HP-PVR tuner. When I select a channel in Sage, I see the USB-UIRT LED blinking but never get a channel change. Tried both 6 and 10 for the delay with same effect. So to the question - in the LEARN menu, there is a "Test infrared code" select that when I bring it up, it shows all the keys I have programmed. When I select one of them from my Sage remote, I see the USB-UIRT blink but I dont actually see any kind of feedback. What is supposed to happen when you "test" one of those keys in that menu? Should I see some kind of pop up telling me it works or what? Figure if that is the case, I can dink around with more settings and codes etc till I get that piece to work. Please help of SageTV guru's out there...

edit - Oh, and I have only the native USB-UIRT drivers loaded, am pointing the USB-UIRT at the 211K IR ports and not using a cabled blaster as the ones that I came with the Hauppage devices have a smaller plug. Tried different angles, different distances etc. HEEEEELP!

I had the same problem.
It seems that the UIRT was not transmitting in the right IR frequency range.
I had a pair of IR emitters that were from some old VCR and they plugged into the back of the UIRT and worked fine.

I have a similar setup, except I have 2 211Ks solo and I use the attached ir file for the zone 2 receiver. Just rename the extension from .txt to .ir
Edit the "z2" at the start of every digit in th efile if you don't want it on zone 2 of your USBUIRT.
I hope this helps.

You might try testing your IR codes with the free LrnHelper program. You can try sending code to make sure that your set top box changes channels reliably independent of SageTV.

Well I am not 100% sure which one of these things fixed it but I do now have it working. I did download and use the Llnhelper app to find the codes then I put them in the .ir file and restarted SageTV. I compared the codes and they did seem to be slightly different from what the "learned" codes seem to have been. I have the USB-UIRT about 2" from the front of the VIP211 and it seems to work fine. Will make a mount with velcro to ensure the distance and alignment stays the same.

So no-one answered the other question - what should I actually see when I do the "TEST" function? My VIP211 is now changing channels with the USB-UIRT but when I go into test, I still dont see anything different?
