STV 7.0.23.246 (client) and Win7 Service Pack 1
I'm using STV7 on a few PCs. The server app (as a service) runs on a Win7_Ult PC and the client app (7.0.23.246 Client) runs on a couple Win7_Ult PCs. All are running Java 1.6.0_Build24 (latest as of this post).
I just upgraded one of the client HTPCs to Win7 Service Pack 1. I wouldn't normally do such an "upgrade" so soon after the release of a SP, but my family and I have been suffering with an HDMI audio problem (drop/disconnect of HDMI audio on a reboot; a pain to reactive) which MS *finally* acknowledged and claimed to fix with SP1. So I only installed SP1 on the one client PC since none of my other PCs use HDMI audio.
After doing this SP1 upgrade, I've had the STV Client app crash once or twice a day, with the system reporting that STV_C has "stopped responding" and allowing me to kill the app from a pop-up dialog. Only STV_C crashes, not Windows, so it's relatively painless other than the fact that STV isn't then able to mark the current position of a show when it stops (have to then FF/jump to that point after STV_C relaunch).
Since I haven't upgraded the STV7 server box with SP1 (and won't any time soon) I can't say whether or not this would be an SP1 problem on that Win7 PC & STV (service or STV app) as well. I'm also not gung ho to try the 7.1.2_Beta at this time, for sure not on the very stable server box.
