Java 7

Hi,

I put the test version of Java 7 on my PC, for other reasons, but now SageTv is not starting.

It's says, can't find JVM 1.4 (I was using 1.6 before putting 7 on) 1.6 is still installed.

I think Sage is trying to use Java 1.7 and it's not working.

How can I make SageTV use the installed 1.6 when starting up. I can't see any option to force this???

Did you remember to stop the SageTV service before installing Java 7? If it tried to upgrade 1.6 to 7, but some of the files were in use by Sage, then you could end up with a corrupt installation. Try reinstalling 1.6 to see if that makes a difference.

Not sure this is the fix.

I'm only running SageTVClient not the server, so no issues running the service during install and so on.

I do have both the latest 1.6 JRE and the 1.7ea JRE release installed. Java supports having multiple version quite happy, as it should. Both work perfectly went used elsewhere.

I think the issue may be more to do with SageTV and Java 7. Has anyone else had a go?

How can I explicitly declare which VM sageTV should use? I think if I could make sage use the 1.6 VM I would be ok, just can't find the setting.

Isn't there a control panel option for java to set the default JVM?
