I use the WHS to back up all my machines 4 laptops and 2 desktops. it is the central place for photo storage, documents and music. I think if I left that alone for just that and used one of my desk tops for Sage that would be perfect. I also use WHS for my X10 Active home control since it is the 'main' server.
My point being, if all you are using WHS for is a central storage location, there's no reason you can't use the Sage Server computer for this function. It's going to be 24/7 available as well, and can serve files every bit as well as WHS can.

Gotcha, makes sense now..

Well I have my Sage Server/WHS working like it was. I have noticed that I cannot run Comskip on other files while watching a recording, tends to cause blips/short pause during playback. I have it set for 2 comskip instances at a time.

maybe someday I can upgrade the hardware, but right now I need to stick with what I have. looking at the AMD 4200+ X2 rig I don't have enough space for all the required PCI cards (1 gig LAN and 2 analog tuners)

I need to wait for a nice Tigerdirect or newegg CPU and mother board deal then upgrade

did you get this kit yet? looks like my WHS is having an attitude, so I may have to replace the hardware and do a new install. Thinking of this kit

I think it'll arrive tomorrow... it's for my mother-in-law, so I have no idea how it will perform, other than much better than what she's got now.
