HD300 and DVD folders/BD ISO's - No Go?
Hi all -
I've got a couple of HD300's. One will play back DVDs (folder structures) fine, but not BD ISO's. (The BD ISO's do work on the server UI). The other one, that I just added and updated to the latest non-beta firmware, won't play either. LiveTV, Playon, work fine. Using HDMI out. Main Plugins in use is SageMM (MyMovies plugin). I select the DVD or BD from "DVD/BD" under video, and it brings up the options menu. I select "Play now", and it just takes me back to the title list. In "My Movies" list view, selecting a title does nothing whatsoever. I've searched the forums for this, and I can't seem to form a specific enough query. I've been through many of the 14 pages of returned threads that look vaguely relevant, but nothing much besides advising that VirtualCloneDrive be installed and have multiple virtual drives for Sage to utilize, and that it be running under the same account as SageService. Server is latest 7.1.9, on Win7 x64, 8GB, i3-540, GigEthernet, MyMovies 4.01 (all media referenced via drive letters of directly attached drives), All DVDs are ripped to folder structure; BDs to ISO structure. Latest Virtual CloneDrive installed, and set up with 4 drives, running as the same user as the SageService. On the Server UI, I use (and have tried turning off for testing) the External Player plugin for BDs. If I can provide any more info to help troubleshoot, please let me know. Any help would be genuinely appreciated. |

Make sure the path to the DVD or BD ISO shows up in the My Movie application (the app not the plugin) under the disk. If you're playing thru virtual clone it will need that specific path. Did you try playing these in the default STV Video menu and do they play there?

The MM database entry for a given disc "Some Great Blu Ray" looks like this: Name: Disk 1 Location Type: Online (Folder) Location: I:\MM\Some Great Blu Ray\ DiscID: (Pile of Hex Generated by MM) Within that path I:\MM\Some Great Blu Ray, there would be an ISO with the same name as the folder, but an ISO extension, so I:\MM\Some Great Blu Ray\Some Great Blu Ray.iso |

They are in their own folders. So I:\MM\Cars\Cars.iso would be my example. The import directories match as well, as they do play using both the external player as well as the default built in player on the server UI. (Except where those occasional blu rays have the wrong language as the longest playlist, but that's a known issue and quite tolerable -- that and menu support are why I use the external player on the server UI -- the extenders should be fine with the default player). All mappings are drive letter (F:, G:, H:, I:, etc) as opposed to UNC (\\servername) on both sides. |

And to elaborate, the media import directories in STV are set at <driveletter>:\MM, so I:\MM would be one of them.
