HD300 Warranty Repair Needed...

I have an HD-300... Was working just fine... Went on vacation for 4 weeks... Left it UNPLUGGED for that time... When I can home yesterday I hooked it up again... Blue LED is lite up... Unit is DEAD... Just sits there... No response of any kind... DEAD... Except for the nice Blue LED... ANY help would be greatly appreciated as this is the new HD-300... Hard for me to understand how just sitting UNPLUGGED would cause this... HELP if you can... Thanks...

HD300 Warranty Repair Needed...

I have an HD300 purchased in March 2011... It is DEAD... It is my understanding that Google is honoring the 1 year warranty... How do I avail myself of the warranty fix now that Goodle is in control??... Any help is greatly appreciated... Thanks...

Have you followed the troubleshooting tips contained in the HD300 User's Guide? Tried the HD300 composite output? Does your router list the HD300's IP address as an attached device? Are you using a wired or wireless connection? If it's wired, are the LEDs by the ethernet port on the back of the unit light up? Are either of them flashing? If it's a wireless connection, have you tried it with a wired connection? Need more information to help...

I appreciate your help very much... I have 3 HD200's all working just fine... I have 1 HD300 that is DEAD since I came back from vacation... It was working just fine before I left... They were ALL unplugged while I was away for a month... I have been using SageTV for YEARS without any hardware issues... I am VERY familiar with how SageTV works and how to set things up... All connections are wired... NOTHING has changed since I came back from vacation... The HD300 just sits there with the Blue LED lite... it responds to nothing... it outputs nothing anywhere on any port... and accepts nothing from the IR... I know many of the tricks to get things going and none work in this case... I will try the support line that was linked to me by the other fellow... Everything else has been tried... I will be surprised if I get a replacement unit promptly now that Google has taken over... Things were ALWAYS good under the original founders control... It's sure a let down with ALL the effort you guys and myself have put into helping to solve problems... supporting the system... telling others about it... etc... and now it is GONE as money has made its mark... and that is OK and EXPECTED... The basement experimenter spirit I am sure continues but CASH changes the venue of operation and the RULES... Others I have told about SageTV and have installed it certainly look at me with a different eye of decreased confidence in my recommendations... But I am not a young man by any means and I KNOW "ALL good things come to an end... It's just when that is unknown"... The only fix that I see is if Google makes a system that dovetails into what we have now... Possible but doubtful... We will see... THANKS so much for your support and help... It is appreciated...

Before you RMA it, try unplugging everything from the HD300 (power, video, ethernet, etc.) and then plug back in just the power. Let the device sit for about 5 minutes then unplug it and hook everything back up as normal.

I have had two HD300s lockup and that has always fixed them in the past.

Tried the Unplug everything... Power In... Power Out... MANY TIMES... I know about this trick because I have used it on my HD200's... NO LUCK HERE... It will not respond to anything... All ports have been checked... There is NOTHING happening... Except the nice Blue LED shines brightly... Oh Yeah... But THANKS very much for the idea... It is appreciated...

Sent HD300 in for warranty work on 10/19/2011... Received new or fixed unit on 11/11/2011... Received unit works GREAT... All OK... Nothing said on what was wrong... Nothing will be said on what was wrong... No notice was given as to it being returned... It just arrived... I tried to make further contacts via EMail along the way but they were not acknowledged... Basically, just the original RMA... Sent unit in... They sent unit back... No further communications answered... Job is DONE... Thanks to SageTV for the warranty work... I hope there is a dovetail back to SageTV functions with future Google products... but I THINK this is all coming to an end... We will see... So be it...

It's great that you got your HD300 back so fast!

I wouldn't read too much into the lack of communication. I think only one person does all the support/returns and I bet he probably has other responsibilities at Google; he is probably swamped. Google is known for not communicating directly and I doubt they would invest in establishing a formal support process for a company that EOL.

Eventually came to the conclusion that HDMI input 3 was faulty on the TV.. moved it to #4 and all is well
