Pontop Pike Problems Persist

Anyone using Pontop Pike? I only now have the two BBC muxes working (1 and B) everything else is screwed. Could it be an aerial problem with these symptoms? Even the freeview TVs won't tune...

If your TV's wont tune as well then I guess its an aerial problem... do your neighbours TV's work ok?

Have you had your DSO yet? Because there is also such a thing as having too strong a signal and I know in my area for the second phase of DSO they ramped up the output and if you live quite close to the transmitter you may fall into this category. You can buy attenuators which will reduce your signal...

Just throwing out ideas

Thanks bud. No, DSO is Sep 2012. Don't know anyone who uses Freeview, they all use Sky or Virgin... Lost a different Mux all last week so I don't know if it's maintenance (but none showing) or if my aerial has just got worse. Better get someone out to look at it. I can download what doesn't record, not a big deal, but they whinge when they can't watch X-Bloody-Factor...

LOl, I feel your pain... mines been off for a couple of days now when I tried to install my new card and then completly broke the whole system.... just happened to be the final this weekend as well (sods law).

Bit odd that it just stopped working... did you have those strong winds last week? Perhaps your aerial got moved.... bit of a long shot.

That's my guess, unless there's unplanned outage...

Can confirm freeveiw is working fine for my mother on pontop pike. Trust me if it had gone off my phone would of been ringing none stop.

My only other thought apart from your aerial moving would be if you used an aerial booster. You said that 5plus mux had gone first. I used to have strange problems with this mux and traced it done to my booster.

Dean

Thanks Dean, already tried a different booster. I've asked someone to come out and look at the aerial, might be a bit windy for them right now though...

Aerial was hanging off apparently. All restored with a new aerial...
