Disable Media Scan

I would like to disable the scanning of import directories
when my sage server starts up.

Can this be done and how?

Do you restart you server every day? If not then you can set the scan to manual mode by doing this:

Setup > Detailed Setup > General > Automatic Library Rescan Frequency > 0

However, even in manual mode, if you stop the service and start the service again it will perform a rescan once.

I don't restart it that often.
All of my media files, other than recordings, are
located on a separate Unraid server.
If for some reason the Unraid server is down, I worry
about the sage computer restarting and loosing all
my media info.
Another example is on power failure.
All my device are set to restart after power is restored.
If sage starts up without the Unraid running its a problem.

You wont loose them. Sage will not be able to find the drive so when you look at the info for the program it will show 0.0Gb in size but the entry will still be there. SageTV will not delete them if the drive appears missing. If you then bring your unRAID server back up and scan again SageTV will then be able to see the files and report the correct size. So the 0.0Gb will be reported as 7.5Gb for instance.

Just set the property "seeker/do_initial_lib_scan" to false and the only way to perform a scan will be manual or automatic via

Setup > Detailed Setup > General > Automatic Library Rescan Frequency > 0
