Media scan never stops and consumes CPU
I installed a NAS to store my photos and music on. (Synology 5 Drive box). I have mapped the drive to my PVR and setup 2 locations to scan for media. (Just pictures and Music).
My video is still located on local HD's. Ever since I have done this the media scan just runs and runs taking CPU and doesn't finish.. I've turned on logging to see where its getting stuck but haven't found an entry that is obvious. Any pointers? The NAS is connected via 1GB and the PVR is as well. Thanks |

You have the scan frequency less than the time it takes the system to scan your files. I had this issue when I used to use a buffalo NAS.
go into sage and change the media scan to something like 24 hours or 1 day or so. You really shouldn't need to scan more than that. You can always do a manual scan if you add something and need it immediately. Hope that works.
