Everything is working great. The UI is definitely more responsive, and although I haven't "displayed" my Java Heap yet, this build has reduced (if not eliminated) the sluggishness that I was getting on my main PC Client. By default, we never shut it down.

As I stated earlier in my post, I am having some minor text align/sizing issues. I have gone through the settings again, and can't seem to make any changes that rectify them. I am not sure if these are "my" system issues, or P2.

1. When typing the numbers to change the channel. On a single digit, the font is overly large (even stretched)

2. Upon entering the second (and third) digits, the channel # is replaced with the ellipsis.

3. When on the channel, and bringing up the channel/show info bar, the channel # isn't playing nice with the channel logos.

4. When bringing up the mini-guide, the show title appears to be overlapped by the show information. Also, I am not getting a channel change by hitting the "Enter" button from the mini-guide. I have just recently changed the Detailed Setup -> Always tune channel to False, however was experiencing the same before the change.

Thx,
Grant

Have you upgraded to v102 yet? I know I've fixed all of that stuff - I thought it was in 102...

Update. I reinstalled the 102 update, and it cleared up all my issues with the exception of the third one, where the channel logos are overlapped by the channel number.

Sorry bout that

Grant

My HD300 handles the Channel #s and Logos the same as OneOfMany's screenshot. The channel number overlays the upper right corner of the logo.

What's the thought to change it? Maybe bring it down inline with the show title? Or make it slightly bigger and put it side by side with the channel logo?

Just installed the public beta. When I load the Phoenix2.xml stv, the initial screen is blank with just the background and I see this in sagetv_0.txt:

I can load the EPG and system status screens with the remote buttons, but I can't seem to find any way to load recordings, options, etc.

Do you have custom menu files in userdata/Phoenix/...

If so maybe you should copy them somewhere safe and start sage up without them. It seems like it's barfing loading the Landing Zone Menu...

Also make sure that you have the "LandingMenu_2a.xml" file in the STVs/Phoenix/Menus directory - could be a case where the plugin system didn't extract everything like it should have....

Nope, this dir was/is empty.

The file exists.

Restarted Sage and then everything loaded up fine.

Next issue...

So I'm loving it already!! The memory footprint and responsiveness is great! I could never use Phoenix or Gemstone, etc. in the past without running out of heap with 1 extender running. Once someone else turned on another extender, everything blew up. My initial testing with just one extender looks great! This looks like everyone will be able to use it.

The issue I'm facing now... when I start playback of a recording, the OSD displays with the timeline at the bottom and the program details at the top. After 4-5 seconds, the timeline stops updating (this is when it should disappear), but it doesn't disappear, it just stays overlaid on top of the video forever. If I do something to make the timeline reappear then it starts to update again for 4-5 seconds then stops, but does not disappear.

This is on an HD200.

Is it just the timebar that doesn't disappear? Or does the program info stay visible also?

I can't reproduce this, I'll dig out an HD200 and see if it happens on that...

The timeline and program info both remain overlaid permanently.

And when I press stop on the HD200 it looks like there should be a menu, but nothing appears until I start to press up/down on the remote then each box of the menu starts to appear one by one (Stop recording, resume, start from beginning are the options, I believe). Unless you start pressing up/down nothing is drawn on the screen and you just think things have hung. This seems related to the OSD stuff not disappearing.

Also, when I stop playback on a previously recorded tv show (any show) not only does the options not draw on screen, but if I just press stop again to exit playback, P2 immediately starts to record whatever channel the recording I stopped watching was from. This is not live tv I was watching, but rather a recording from months ago. I've tested this with many different recordings and the same thing happens: when I stop playback of a recording, P2 immediately starts a recording of the originating channel.

I think it's all probably related - I pulled out my HD200 and it works normally with P2 - I'm not sure what in your setup could be causing this. Is your HD200 on the last firmware they released?

Do you notice any errors in the phoenix log or the sagetv_0.txt log file?

Nothing out of the ordinary. I'm guessing, then, that there's some cruft hanging around on the server from the last 5 years. I'm building a new server this summer so I'll just try P2 again when that's ready. The current XP server + default UI will suffice until later this summer. Based on what I've seen during my testing, I'm a little more eager to start building the new box.

most of these buttons don't work in P1 either. I'll look at adding support for them...

When deleting a TV Show in "TELEVISION - TV Shows" the list is not immediatly refreshed and deleted TV Show is shown for 70 seconds.

A few thoughts, without having played with P2 too much yet:

1 - I'd like the timebar to be visible when I skip manually (either 10 seconds, 150 seconds, or left/right arrows). I'm never sure where I am in a recording.

2 - There seems to be some redundancy between the Options menu (that slides out of the right side of the screen) and the Settings/Details menus or screens. I assume this is by design and I don't really have a problem with it, but it seems odd.

3 - I really miss having a Poster/Grid layout for movies. I like Lists/Banners for TV shows but I find them less ideal when browsing movies. Is there any chance something like this will come back?

4 - Online videos work again, yay!

5 - Still can't delete imported videos, boo!

6 - Is there a picture browser? Will the Media Browser work for pictures? More questions I can eventually answer for myself!

7 - Any chance we can specify the order of the Delete options in the Stop menu? I almost always want to Delete and Mark Watched, but that requires extra clicks...

That should be happening - when I skip I see the time bar - are you on an extender or a client?
