Strange HD200 behavior
I have an HD200 plugged to a switched power receptacle, meaning it goes completely off every time I am done using it, and goes through the long, slow startup every time I power it on.
Lately it has started having some strange behavior issues. Sometimes when I power it up, nothing comes up at all - the red power light turns on but the box is completely unresponsive (no blinking of the light when a remote key is pressed, nothing). Sometimes it works fine, but then suddenly when I am navigating the menu it will just shut off completely (as though I hit the power button on the remote) - and once it does this, it becomes unresponsive where the red light won't even turn on (unless I unplug and replug it, in which case it goes into the unresponsive mode I described above).
The only thing that seems to allow it to start working again is time - if I go back and try it a few days later, sometimes it works.
My best guess is I may have a dying power transformer. Does this sound like correct symptoms for that? Or something else?
