Search for (existing) recordings by aspect ratio?
Is there a way I can search through my 840 episode of COPS and find which ones are 4:3? Before I found I could limit recordings to specific channels, I ended up with several on G4. Is there any way to search for them by the ratio or by channel so i can remove them all easily?
Thanks! |

Using Gemstone, you may be able to create a view that groups them by Channel. I don't think you'll be able to do anything with Aspect Ratio, as that isn't really it's own column in the database (instead it is just a string listing out all stream properties in the file).

If you change your favorite to only record on the HD channels and set the favorite to not auto delete would SageTV then remove the non-favorite episode of cops when space is low? Each non-HD version would lose the HD icon which would help indicate which is and isn't 16:9.
Also, I believe windows explorer can tell you what the pixel size of a video file is if you enable that column. You could always enable that column under the details view in explorer and then sort by size and select all the episodes with that size and delete them. As long as nothing is marked as watched, SageTV should re-record them when they are available in HD.

You really do not do Gemstone for this you can use the built in Malore menus ... you can group by channel you can even filter out NonHD or HDTV. real simple. In case you do not have malore menus you can enable hidden extras.
