I am in for some cash if we can go to 64 bit Java so that you can stably run more than 4 or so extenders at once.

Funny that Google Fiber TV currently has a 4-box limit on TV boxes. Hmm.

This really awesome news. I JUST moved off of Sage. But this could bring me running back full steam.

Now all we need is an Android client

i am good there since I have a good cache of spare HD200s - it is mobile clients that we really lack. And some of the Android TV boxes could be great of extenders.

There are a bunch of great developers in the SageTV community (where did all those plugins come from?). And I imagine some of the engineers who worked for Sage back in the day might be willing to do some development work on the open-source version.

My Java chops are a little rusty -- I've been doing device driver work and embedded systems for most of a decade -- but I bet it would come back to me, given the chance to help bring one of the best software products in the world back to fully-supported status.

This is a great day.

Does this mean that we will no longer need keys to run the software under the current available installers?

I wonder if this will mean the end of the EPG data being provided by Google?
