windows placeshifter

Can someone else test the windows placeshifter on v9? Mine just stays stuck on connecting locally and through the locator service.

Quick check from here works, at least locally. Not able to check remote connection right now.

I've done it remotely and it works. I did copy the new jar files to the machine running placeshifter.

SageTV V9 Placeshifter Locator Service Shut down?

When the EPG server shuts down in July 2017, will the Locator Service still work after that? If not, what is the best option for remote access?

PS: This may not be in the right place, but I didn't see a place to enter a new post, only Reply to Thread.

You don't need the locator service for remote access, you just need to know your home WAN IP. If you use a dynamic DNS service then you don't even need that. You need to open up a few ports on your router, but I think you need to do that even if you are using the locator service.

Locator service isn't going anywhere...it'll keep running. The ONLY thing getting shut down on 7/1 is the EPG data service.
