QuadHD quit working after a Windows Update, not sure why. It's not camera privacy. I don't see a service named "Hauppauge" or "WinTV". Uninstalled WinTV. DualHD still working fine, going to let this rest for a while until it becomes more prevalent and someone else stumbles upon a way to fix it.

Same result if I run 2 DualHD. It might be a quirk in my motherboard. I don't believe it's the USB ports, tried that once.

I've been running them on USB3 so far. I've had some success plugging the tuners in after booting Windows, before loading SageTV. The quadHD also works this way. If I have the tuner(s) plugged in before booting, it errors out. This does sound like a service issue, but I don't see any service named WinTV or Hauppauge in there.

The USB boot issue could due to "Boot From USB" setting in the BIOS set to allow.
Similar to having a non-bootable floppy in the drive at boot time (a what?? )

The system does boot from the HDD, but having 2 duals or 1 quad plugged in at boot time results in the tuners being inoperable. They are detected by Windows and show up in SageTV. A single dualHD tuner works fine.

NextPVR works fine with the quad tuner. It's not that big of an issue any more though, we lost a bunch of channels in the last repack.

Here's an oddity: The USB quad works again now. I think it's because of something that changed when I installed Windows 11. The only thing that's not working right is video preview in capture device setup. This actually works, but it hangs SageTV so I can't back out of it.
(Edit) If I just chill and wait, the UI will come back. This is mostly a problem on weak stations.

Quad HD suddenly stopped recording
My SageTV had an event while I was out of town so I do not know what might have precipitated the problem.
The result is that new TV shows fail to record and I cannot watch live TV. I can play my recorded TV shows. When attempting to record, SageTV throws the following error message which looks a lot like a windows error: There was a Playback Error in Playback. Details: Sage.PlaybackException Error: (-4, 0x80004005) There was a problem rendering the video portion of the content for playback. Occasionally the error is reported as There was a Capture Error in Playback. Details Error (-4, 0x800705aa) There was a problem using the capture device. Please be sure you have the latest drivers installed on your capture device, and that they are installed correctly. The system is running on Win 10 using a Hauppauge WinTV-quadHD(ATSC ClearQUAM) 165100. In trying to sort out the problem I installed the current version of WinTV10 to load the latest drivers which was able to record and play live TV. I then removed WinTV10 from the system but the drivers did not change. Went through the SageTV configuration and changed the video and audio filters to the latest version LAV though I did not use the configuration appps. I upgraded to the latest version of SageTV. Although Windows 10 reports itself as Windows Pro ver 2009 (build 19044.2251) it has all the updates including Windows Feature Update 22H2. I do not know if OpenDCT should be used. I have resisted doing an in place Windows 10 upgrade out of concern for screwing up my Windows Storage Spaces. using err_6.4.5.exe I get these header file interpretations which do not mean anything to me # for hex 0x80004005 / decimal -2147467259 DDERR_GENERIC ddraw.h DIERR_GENERIC dinput.h DSERR_GENERIC dsound.h STIERR_GENERIC stierr.h DRM_E_FAIL windowsplayready.h E_FAIL winerror.h # Unspecified error # 6 matches found for "0x80004005" |

There have been reports that various Win10 updates have tweaked settings to block some applications from accessing the video capture device (tuner). Have a look at https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/...dows-10-a.html to check if this is the case. "Camera" = tuner.
