HOWTO: Android MiniClient Video Players

Ok, it's a new year, and, tomorrow, I start back to my real job. I know its going to be hard year, and as such, I'm doubtful that I'll be spending much time on the Android MiniClient overt he next few months (which is why I spent the last 2 weeks doing nothing but miniclient work).

But, I wanted to point out a document that i added to the project talking about Video and the MiniClient.

https://github.com/OpenSageTV/sagetv...DEO_PLAYERS.md

This document covers the basics of how video works in the MiniClient and possibly, if someone were motifivated, they could actually pull in another player like VLC or MPV. I'd be willing to help guide someone if they chose to do this, but, I know I won't be able to dedicate time to it, at least not in the next 8 months

If you are looking at pulling in a new player, you will need both java/jni and C expertise.

Hopefully the doc has some value to someone that wants to better understand how players work with SageTV.

That was a good read. Thank you for taking the time to document this.

Just curious, are you thinking that MPV or VLC may perform better than exoplayer with the non perfect mpeg2 streams that are generated?
