Fire TV miniclient problem

So I have been using the miniclient on my new Fire TV 4K stick and it has been working great. But, I just ran into a problem.

I decided to setup a server for remote connectivity. When I connect, SageTV brings up the login screen. It also open the Fire TV keyboard. I can type in my username, but when I hit the Next button, it does not advance the cursor to the next field on the logon screen. It stays in the username field.

I then tried using the Fire TV keyboard when connected locally. I used the Search function to find a show title. I can enter the name fine, but when I hit Next, it exits out of search.

Suggestions?

I can only speak to the login screen, as I've logged in remotely from my kindle and I've noticed this behavior. What I do to get around it is put in the username and select send. It of course fails, but comes back highlighting the password entry, where I type the password an re send.I

How do you select send?

I had to delete the miniclient so I could login again. Once I login it re.embers me and I don't have to enter my credentials again. I'm realizing now that there may be too many differences between the firetv and kindle interface for this to work for you, buy I'll describe it anyway. So I put in the username with the kindle keyboard, then select to drop the keyboard because it's over the password entry. The password entry becomes visable but I cannot select it. But I can select "login". When I do it pops up with "you must enter a password", with the password entry now selected. I enter the password and I'm good. Hope this helps.

I still have not been able to enter the userid/pswd on the Fire TV stick. I have tried Bluetooth keyboards and the Fire TV app on my phone. The keyboard interface just does not work with the mini-client.

But then I had an idea. If you entered the userid and password and clicked auto connect, it would remember you and automatically connect the next time. That means that the userid and password are stored in a file that the mini-client is reading. If I can create that file and put it on the Fire TV stick, it would solve the problem of having to login.

Are there any details available on how to create this file and what format it should be in?
