Prefer SD digital source over SD analog

I have a HDHomeRun and two PVR-150s, the HDHomeRun tuners use the channel lineup of my local digital cable tier while the PVR-150s use the analog cable lineup. Say a SD show is aired in analog on channel 3 and in digital on 255. How can I configure SageTV to prefer the digital broadcast on 255 over the analog broadcast? encoder_merit doesn't help...according to this thread merit is only supposed to come into play when you have two tuners receiving the same lineup:

I can force it manually to record from the digital source instead of analog but there has to be a way to make this happen automatically. Note that this isn't a problem if the show in question is in HD, only when its in SD.

I have the same problem. Every now and then it will record the digital version, but usually it's analog.

There is a setting in the properties file to address this. It is something like prefer_hd_over_sd .... I can't quite remember it from memory but I'm sure you will find it with some searching.

In the favorites section for that show why not just set it to record that show only on channel 255? Thats seems like it would solve the problem.

The prefer_hd_over_sd setting doesn't help here because the show in question isn't a HD show. It is SD but it airs on the digital channel as well as analog.

I could solve the problem that way for this one specific but I was looking for a more generic solution so that I wouldn't always have to look for this kind of thing.
