Different files sizes from different capture devices
Problem:
I have 2 ATSC capture devices. I just reinstalled the Aver A180 and have been using a Dvico 5 for the past few years. I recorded a show tonight and I have 2 dramatically different file sizes. The file recorded with the A180 is 7.17 GB in size and format is .mpg The file recorded with the Dvico 5 is 8.39 GB in size and the format is .tp Both files are within a few seconds length of one another. Recorded on different computers. It is a capture of the CBS 9pm show. Both are OTA captures. Why are the file sizes so much different? Any help is greatly appreciated. |

I explained it in a little more detail on this post.
MPEG2 Transport Stream vs Program Stream and the post has a link to an external source that provides much more detail if you're down for some reading.

Glad I could help. What do you mean by AR? Audio Recording?

Aspect Ratio. Actually changing the decoder gave me the proper AR. The Sage decoder would not give me the proper AR.
