The Play button. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

I like to use the play button to start watching recorded shows (as opposed to clicking Select - twice). It seems to work for the first couple shows during a session, but then stops working or works some of the time, for no apparent reason.

This is pretty frustrating.

Anyone experience this? (It's in the latest version but was happening as far back as v5 IIRC).

I believe you have to use the stop button to insure the play button always works as expected. If you just watch a show to the end, it is not the same as pressing stop. I do not know why it is implemented that way. But that is what I recall when I tryed using the play button.

I believe you're right

I'll submit a bug report - it really shouldn't matter what you've done before when you press Play...

I submitted this issue to Sage. Apparently it is behaving this way because I set "show video on menus" to "never" - but they agreed that "play" should work correctly even in this case so they will look at it.
