I posted that blog post, but to be honest all of the info in the blog post came from these forums including the photos. I just put it all in one place to help spread the SageTV love

I think Sage is winning a lot of praise all around for listening to their customers and trying to serve up what the customer asks for. That is why Microsoft and Snapstream has been sliding in this space vs. SageTV IMHO.

I don't know whether it is supposed to process the vB tags inside the [code] tags or not, but if you use the [noparse] tag, you get:

The Dallas News has a decent write-up on the SageTV HD100 extender. The reviewer praised the extender, but was kind of hard on the difficulty of getting SageTV set up.

My opinion only: I mostly agree with the writeup. I'd like to see a few new features in the SageTV core and then see a big focus in making things easier to set up. "Dumb down" the installation process as much as possible to make SageTV easier and easier to get set up.

Along those lines of making things easier to setup, I've been working on an editorial blog post that ponders (almost suggests) that SageTV make a pre-built server box. One that is fairly simple plug & play type device with server capability. Add this along with the extender and you have a device that will be more attractive to the Tivo turn-it-on-and-it-works crowd. Yes, many people (myself included) would prefer to build their own server PC, but I think this would appeal to more of the masses. Make them forget it's a PC running things and make it simple as possible. Even if it costs quite a bit I think it would do well.
