Arrow Theme: Sage Pro UI theme for Standard STV 6.3

Sage Pro Theme V0.08 for Standard STV V6.3

A loadable UI theme for the Standard STV. Requires SageTV V6.2 or later. Also designed to be used with neilm's Dynamic Menu 6.3 (First version with Themes. Tested and developed with 6.3.6 RC.)

Installation

Unzip the package into your Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\STVs\SageTV3\Themes folder.
In Dynamic Menus remove any paths that may be in there for the icon paths. Make sure you just leave the default name of the icons. (example: mm_recordings.png. You can either find and replace in the menu's xml file or remove it from within Sage and the Dynamic Menu options.)

In SageTV, go to Setup > Detailed Setup > Advanced > Select the User Interface Theme and choose SagePro HD720 (for 16x9 displays) or SagePro SDTV (for 4x3 displays).

For support or suggestions, see this forum thread here.

Screenshots

Shades of Meedio
Yes I know some will recognize it from my Meedio Pro theme I did long ago.

Icons
Icons were originally created by Paul Davey. He originally did the GANT icons that are included with the Dynamic Menu plugin. According to the documentation included with the icons:
Quote:
It basically means that you are free to alter and redistribute Buuf as you wish. However, you must attribute it thusly:

Based on icons by Paul Davey aka Mattahan. All rights reserved.
You may NOT use any Buuf icon commercially without my permission.
Features
New Main Menu Icons! (more to come)
Almost every other icon is replaced!
New busy/wait cursor!
All new Weather icons!

You can download the theme from here.

I'm still working on some issues but felt it is in shape to play with. This is a work in process and as new features are added to the core and Dynamic Menus they just may be used by this theme. If you have questions or comments put them in this thread.

NOTE: Make sure that both the SagePro SDTV and the SagePro HS720 folders are located in your theme folders. One is dependant upon the other for its base icons and weather icons.

Thank you, trying it out now.

B

Tried it out. The background image needs to be renamed to Background.jpg to work on Linux, and I assume Mac.

Thanks again!

Edit 3 - It's a no go for me, the weather icons with the silhouettes is a deal breaker.

Background.jpg is the name for both SagePro SDTV and SagePro HD720. Not sure what you mean.

Help me understand why the weather icons with the silhouettes is a deal breaker. I don't have issues on the MVP, HD Extender or any PC client.

PS-I've taken nothing into consideration for running on a Mac or Linux.

That reminds me: does this work now using the default themes, or is there still a filename issue? I thought I fixed that, but it still looks like it might be an issue to me. Since the filename didn't change when I tried it, maybe I'll just change the STV to look for "background.jpg".

Linux and Mac are case sensitive for the filenames, so they need to use the same case as the default themes... which of course really ought to use the same case as the STV & there may still be an issue or two there.

Ahhhh....I didn't catch that. Case sensitivity. I'll change that in the next revision. Sorry about that.

I think I'm going to change the STV to look for "background.jpg" anyway, so you don't need to change anything.

I am somewhat of a prude and you haven't had a sunny day in a while based on your preview image. The sunny day has a silhouette of a lady on the image. Think trucker mud flap.

Code:
[sagetv@sagetv-server Standard HD1080]$ cat ../../SageTV3.xml |grep background.jpg
[sagetv@sagetv-server Standard HD1080]$ cat ../../SageTV3.xml |grep Background.jpg
             <Action Name="ImageFile = "Background.jpg"">
[sagetv@sagetv-server Standard HD1080]$
Doesn't look like it is fixed.

You're right...it's been a while for a sunny day around here. I should be able to produce a more "proper" icon for the summer day. Probably in the next revision.

I just want to say thanks for this theme - I've been using if for a while and both my wife and I much prefer it to the stock theme.

Thanks!

Matt

Thanks for this. A bit zippier than what SageTV supplies.

Extra info at bottom?

Thanks! Just downloaded and working with the 720 version. How do you get the extra info to show at the bottom of the main menu?
