No scan of DVB-C channels
Dear friends,
I just try to setup SAGETV to join to the group of happy HTPC users after testing TVCENTRAL and MP for a while. From the beginning of setup I failed to scan any DVB-C channel. I am using Cinergy 1200C as well as FIREDTV-C. I understand to modify the PredefinedDVBC.frq file accordingly my regional provider settings. I did it like this: "Austria" frq:322000000;rate:6900;mod:3; .... .... frq:800000000;rate:6900;mod:3; {} I just wonder, where to select now the Provider "Austria" during setup? I haven´t found any menu or got ask to choose. Do I have to rename the predefinedDVBC.frq file to the device name found in the tuner setup?? I hope somebody has some hints for me to resolve this issue. I would love to run SAGETV..... br, Christian |

Hi Christian
Sage will know you are in Austria because you specified it when you set up Sage. So what I do is this: add new source tuner and choose “do not use Program Guide Data with this source” (since Sage does not have any EPG for Denmark) Sage will now download the default channel lineup from Austria. After that you are asked if you wan to scan for channels. Say yes. When finished Sage has created a new tuner specific .frq file. Mine is called FireDTV BDA Receiver DVBC-0-DVB-C.frq. Don’t mess with the predefinedDVBC.frq file. You can now in that .frq file align the channels according to your linking by changing the first number. Eg: CH:1 onid:65024 tsid:1020 sid:2860 frq:143000000 rate:6875 mod:3 ctrl:1 Is mapped to channel 1. If you want if differently change the 1. Hope it makes sense Good luck Rasmus

Rasmus,
MANY MANY MANY THANKS Now I got it! It seems to be a little work, but now I see the way how to do. My first three stations are already working In the moment I am just wondering where I can change the displayed station name? Instead of PREMIERE-1 or PRO-7 I see only the given name by FIREDTV like "DTV2.1" or similar. Do you know how to change to the right name...? thanks for your support Christian |

...a new questions came up:
during my first scan SAGE found 6 channels. I corrected the data according my regional channel setting --> everything is working. Then I add some channels more but then in LIVETV, when I go through my channel matrix from CH1 up and up, SAGE end at channel 6 and continous at CH1 again... Is there perhaps any counter which is set after creating the *frq file? hints welcome! Christian |
