Different remotes for different MVPs

I have 4 MediaMVPs (the Helius ones). They all came with the 34 button remote. My two HVR-1600s came with the 45 button remote. For two of my MVPs I am using the 45 button remotes and the other two I use the 34 button remote.

The problem I am having is with changing channels and scrolling through the miniguide with the 34 button remote. When watching live TV, if I try to change the channel with the 34 button remote, it brings up the miniguide (I'm not sure that's what I want). Once I'm in the miniguide, when I press the UP or DOWN arrowS (which doubles as the channel up/down button) it goes to the next PAGE and not the next channel.

My question, is this: Is it possible to have the 34 button remote scroll channel by channel in the miniguide instead of page by page while retaining all of the functionality of the 45 button remote on the other MVPs?

Don't the Channel up/dwn buttons go channel by channel (one channel at a time)? The up/dwn arrows go page at a time.

$10 for the 45 button remote. I think it's totally worth it just for the extra channel and volume buttons.

On the 34 button remote, the up arrow is the same button as the channel up button and the down arrow is the same button as the channel down button.

So, the short answer to my question:

is, "no".

My plan is to replace two of the MVPs with HD Extenders when they are available, so the dilemma will go away soon-ish. Was just looking for a solution in the interim.
