URC MX 950 - That didn't work... :(
I trained my MX 950 all the remote buttons from the 100's remote control, programmed some macros to make all the HDMI stuff work on my LCD and amp and wow, that did not work much at all.
The remote causes the 100 to go all over the place. Some control with the home, tv, guide buttons, but it is just too erratic to use. I can usually fix most of this stuff with debounce in the registry on a PC but I guess I need to better understand how this remote sends commands to the 100 before I do any thing else or is this a dead end? Any one got a clue? remotecentral.com does not have anything yet as the 100 is still way to new. Thanks... |

This hardware section of the forum has a sticky, Information Resources for Remotes, Receivers, and IR Blasters, which has the link to the MX-700 info bcjenkins referred to. There is a device file for the STX-HD100 from Universal Remote Control that you could try.
I have no idea whether the MX-950 can properly learn the HD100's IR codes, so try the above info first. - Andy

I wouldn't learn them direct from the HD100's remote. You never know what you'll end up with, to many variables play into getting it right.
I've been waiting for URC to update their IR Database, but they still haven't. Got tired of waiting, so I imported the codes to my MX-900 from a config file I found around here on the forum. Do you have the MX-950 editor software?, if so importing should work for the 950 too. If interested, I can type up a short list of how I imported the stuff. I just need to get back in front of the computer where my editor software is installed.
